Portals Launches on Flare

Portals now supports Flare. Explorer coverage is live. The full API stack is available to integrators. Here's what that means for you.

Portals now supports Flare, the EVM-compatible Layer 1 built around data infrastructure. Explorer coverage is live. The full API stack is available to integrators.

Flare is doing something structurally different from most chains worth paying attention to. Here's what that means, and why we picked it.

What Is Flare?

Flare is a Layer 1 built around a different thesis: the biggest unlock in DeFi isn't faster execution, it's trustworthy data access, and that infrastructure belongs in consensus, not bolted on as middleware.

Two enshrined protocols sit at the core: the Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO), delivering up to 1000 decentralized price feeds updating every 1.8 seconds, and the Flare Data Connector (FDC), which brings verified data from external blockchains and Web2 APIs on-chain.

Together they power FAssets, a non-custodial, overcollateralized bridge that brings XRP, BTC, and DOGE into EVM DeFi for the first time.

What This Launch Means for Portals Explorer

Flare assets are now fully indexed in Portals Explorer.

Explorer users can browse yield opportunities across Flare protocols, monitor real-time APYs and TVL, track asset prices and characteristics, and view portfolio positions across connected wallets; the same functionality available on every supported network.

For users with XRP exposure looking to put assets to work via FXRP, Explorer provides the data layer to evaluate where that capital is going and what it's earning.

What This Launch Means for API Integrators

The full Portals API stack is available on Flare.

Asset Discovery & Data
Query any Flare asset (including FAssets, LP tokens, vault positions, and yield-bearing instruments) for real-time and historical data. APYs, TVL, prices, underlying token composition, and contract addresses are all accessible through the standard Portals data endpoints.

Swap & Zap Execution
Smart-route swap and zap execution is live on Flare. Any-asset-to-any-asset swaps, single-transaction entry and exit from yield positions, and Portals' native DEX aggregation are all available.

For developers building XRPFi products, yield aggregators, or cross-chain applications on Flare, this is the execution layer.

Portfolio & Balance Queries
Wallet balance queries, position tracking, and portfolio-level analytics work across Flare through the standard Portals endpoints. Integrators building multi-chain portfolio tools get Flare coverage without additional instrumentation.

Flare is fully available in the developer dashboard.

Why Flare

Adding network support is a deliberate decision. We look at where serious infrastructure is being deployed, where liquidity is real and growing, and where our tools provide the most value to the builders and traders operating there.

Flare clears all three. Enshrined oracles and the FDC are infrastructure decisions that ship rather than a roadmap. And the FAssets thesis is concrete:

XRP has a $67B+ market cap with no native DeFi surface, 150M+ minted (~$200M in XRP) and 85%+ of that actively deployed across lending, staking, vaults, and yield trading.

In addition, Flare boasts 880,000+ active addresses. $128M DeFi TVL on DeFiLlama. BTC and DOGE support in the pipeline.
